What We Offer

Classes

The h.e.a.r.t.s. Lifestyle classes are designed to provide the education and motivation to help initiate small, healthy changes in our current behaviors and to develop new, permanent skills that will help us achieve our individual health goals. They cover healthy topics related to nutrition, exercise, stress management, longevity, etc. – and are always centered around the fundamentals of the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle.

Here is what you will encounter by participating in the classes:

  • Expert and highly effective coaching brought to you in a personable and very relatable way to keep you engaged in the weekly lessons.
  • Discussions on current events and research in the health and wellness field.
  • Regular self-assessments to monitor your own personal progress - always beneficial, and always at your own pace.
  • In-class assignments and activities that often include writing and even some light physical activity. Group participation is highly encouraged and always welcomed but not required. All activities are designed to help us move out of our comfort zone and push us forward so that we see and feel progress.
  • New and healthy recipes that are easy to prepare and always include nutrition content.
  • Introductions to new, healthy foods and products on the market. Participants are encouraged to share with the class their own discoveries they find as they continue on their personal health journeys.
  • And lastly, plenty of humor interjected here and there to keep the classes dynamic and entertaining!

Class fees:  $50/month - offered on a month-to-month basis, starting on the first of every month. The first class is free to everyone to see if the program is a good fit for them.

Schedule:  Classes are currently virtual via the GoTo platform and meet every Thursday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. Links to join class are sent out the day of class and are a one-time link. Everyone is encouraged to share their camera and contribute to the class discussion – it lends a more personal touch to the class - but this is not required in order to attend. It is every participant’s choice.

Private Consults

Consults are offered one-on-one or together with family members for those who prefer more personal coaching. Private consults are encouraged for those who are just getting started on their journeys, and for those who have tried other health or weight management programs and struggled with long term success.

I understand that sharing our past history relating to our weight and health can be very difficult and very emotional, and is always kept very private. I have always remained sensitive to each person’s level of ability and willingness to open up and share. I have worked with hundreds of patients/clients over the past 20 years and many have experienced very personal challenges that have hindered their progress and their success.

My goal is to always remain encouraging, supportive, and nonjudgmental, and to provide highly individualized coaching – step by step – to help each person find their own unique path that helps them succeed in reaching their health goals.

Initial Consults:  $200 - in person or virtual. Includes discussion of personal goals; review of current health status, dietary intake, and lifestyle behaviors; development of customized meal and activity plans; also includes one follow-up to review and initiate personal plans.

Follow-up Consults:  $40 – in person or virtual, per each 30-minute follow-up; $20 for each additional 15-minute extension – in person or virtual. Follow-up consults are recommended to monitor progress, and to reassess and revise goals and current plans to ensure personal goals are achieved.

Body Composition Analysis

Body Composition Analysis is an integral part of assessing your overall health status. It refers to measuring your body composition – your body fat, muscle, and water.

Losing extra weight is definitely an important part of trying to live a healthier lifestyle. However, your weight is made up of multiple parts – water, muscle, fat, bones, etc. The key to effective weight loss is losing excess body fat, not just overall body weight.

Excess body fat is linked to multiple diseases: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and some cancers. Instead of focusing on that single number on the scale, body composition analysis allows you to focus on losing body fat, and even gaining muscle if needed or desired.

The InBody Analyzer accurately measures your body composition in less than 15 seconds and prints out a results sheet that shows your body composition components, allowing you to track your progress over time. The device shows you key components of your health status:

Skeletal Muscle Mass
Body Fat Mass
Percent Body Fat
Basal Metabolic Rate, and more!

It is recommended to retake the InBody test every 2-3 months to assess  your progress. A 30-minute consult is included with every test.

Meal Planning & Grocery Shopping Assistance

Many people struggle with making healthy, balanced meals for many reasons - not having time to prepare meals; not having food available at home to make healthy meals; not knowing what to buy at the store to create healthy meals, and simply just not knowing how to prepare meals in general.

The following services are offered to help with healthy meal planning and grocery shopping:

  • Home tours, virtual or in-person if possible, to assess current food purchases and supplies in home pantries, refrigerators, and freezers. All evaluations are provided judgment- free and are performed with the sole intent of providing valuable Information and recommendations to individuals and families to help them purchase foods and prepare healthier meals that are nutritionally balanced, taste great, and help them along their paths to healthier bodies.
  • In-person field trips (when possible) to local grocery stores and bulk item warehouses to help select healthy options.
  • Education on nutrition label reading and understanding the listed values and ingredients and how they affect the nutrition quality of products.
  • Assistance with creating personal shopping lists.

Fees: $40 per 30-minute consult. $20 additional for each 15-minute extension.

  • On-demand evaluation of product choices/purchases via FaceTime, WhatsApp, texts of product images, etc. Making this option available must be pre-arranged. Fees determined on individual basis. Call for more information.
